Defence Force and Emergency Services Physical Testing

Firefighters, Police Officers, and Military Personnel are all highly trained and physically capable individuals. they undergo rigorous training to develop strength, endurance, and agility. they have to be as prepared as possible to handle physically demanding tasks like carrying heavy equipment, travelling long distances and performing rescue operations in demanding environments all in the process of carrying out their duties.

Each service has it own bench mark to reach. see below for current levels required.

ARMY

Army’s mission is to prepare land power to enable the Joint Force in peace and war.

To achieve the mission, Army generates, structures, employs and postures our teams to be ready for domestic, regional and global tasks. 

These tasks include:

  • support to civil agencies

  • border protection 

  • humanitarian assistance 

  • disaster relief 

  • counter-terrorism 

  • counter-proliferation 

  • population protection 

  • stability operations 

  • recovery operations

  • evacuation operations. 

Army’s people are deployed on global operations, work with our regional military partners, and are ready to offer tangible support and a reassuring presence for the nation, every day.

Royal Australian Navy

Navy’s mission is to prepare naval power in order to enable the integrated force in competition and conflict.

As an island nation, the sea is Australia’s lifeblood. Australians are dependent upon it. Trade travels by sea, and thus Australia’s economy, prosperity, and way of life count on the sea. Good order at sea is vital to the Nation’s economic and environmental welfare, and to national security. 

Navy contributes to the Defence mission by providing safe seaworthy, airworthy and battle worthy ships, submarines, aircraft, and specialist teams to meet operational commitments. The provision of these assets contributes to maintaining sovereignty and security in Australia’s region.

Air Force brings technical, tactical and operational excellence into everything and uses the best combination of people and technology to achieve the RAAF mission. Our purpose is to defend Australia and its national interests in order to advance Australia's security and prosperity.

Police: State and Federal

As Australia’s national policing agency our role is to protect Australians and Australia’s interests. We prevent and disrupt threats to lives, livelihoods and Australia’s way of life here and overseas.

The mission of the NSW Police Force, as set out in the Police Act 1990, is to work with the community to reduce violence, crime and fear. We aim to protect the community and property by preventing, detecting and investigating crime monitoring and promoting road safety maintaining social order

Fire Fighters: Fulltime and Rural

Our overriding purpose is to enhance community safety, quality of life, and confidence by minimizing the impact of hazards and emergency incidents on the people, property, environment and economy of NSW.

The responsibilities of the NSW RFS are set out under the Rural Fires Act 1997. Our vision and mission To provide a world standard of excellence in the provision of a volunteer-based community fire and emergency service.
